Case of implantation using crystal approach
This is a 62-year-old male patient.
Number 26 was removed about 3 months ago.
CT findings show a bone defect at the palatal root.
It was decided to implant using the crestal approach.
Using the CAS kit, an implant with a diameter of 6.0 mm is placed for initial fixation after bone grafting.
I felt like I was constantly being pushed to the palatal, and it didn't seem like there would be any problem with prosthetics due to its location. After placement, it appears to be located slightly on the palatal side.
I proceeded a CT scan. The tilt of the implant or the shape of the remaining bone on the palatal side does not seem to be good.
In the end, I decided to readjust it right away.
After drilling again on the buccal side, the implant was placed. This is a panoramic photo after replanting.
This is a CT finding.
The location and shape of the residual bone on the palatal side appear to be better. Adjusting the position immediately after surgery may be inconvenient for the patient or surgeon in many ways, but
Still, I think it would be easier in the long run to do it if you can.
