Implantation in areas #25 #26
Even in the case of delayed implantation after performing tooth extraction and socket preservation surgery the bone quality feels poor when implanted.Even if X-rays are taken during surgery, when implanted to sufficiently submerge into the native bone, I think there are many cases where I feel more at ease.
This is a 60-year-old male patient. Patient visited the hospital because of discomfort in areas #25 and #26.
First, teeth #25 and #26 were removed.
In this case, in cases where mucosal thickening is severe in the left maxillary sinus, extraction is performed first. Delayed implantation was planned.
However, after the extraction, I looked closely at the CT image again. Radiopaque is observed in the left maxillary sinus.
In a photo taken more than 2 months after extraction, the same radiopaque is observed. The maxillary sinus membrane is also thickened. In this case, fugal infection in the maxillary sinus is suspected.
We decided to remove the inflammation with window approach.
