Case of alveolar bone deficiency in a diabetic patient

A 64-year-old female patient this year.

In 2017, the patient presented with insufficient alveolar bone in the lower left posterior region as shown.

The patient is a diabetic with poor control.

Before surgery

In order to simplify the surgery as much as possible, the soft tissue was reflected, and allograft bone was grafted.
Then, a resorbable membrane was used to cover it, as shown in the image.

In this case, implants were placed in the 46 and 47 areas where there was some remaining alveolar bone.

Postoperative radiograph immediately after the surgery.

Implant placement performed approximately 5 months after the bone grafting in the treated area.
